## What large-scale schema implementation is

Enterprise schema implementation is not adding JSON-LD to a handful of templates. It is building governed entity architecture: stable IDs, locale-aware records, currency-aware offers, validation pipelines, and source pages that AI systems and agents can retrieve without conflating variants.

NRLC treats schema as source-of-truth infrastructure — aligned with enterprise schema markup services and schema governance research.

## Hypothetical enterprise catalog pattern

Illustrative pattern only — not a client claim.

At catalog scale, every sellable variant needs a stable entity ID, localized name, currency-aware offer, availability signal, and policy reference. A multi-market beauty catalog might require shade-level Product nodes, ingredient DefinedTerm links, store-level Offer availability, and per-locale WebPage canonicals so retrieval systems can compare variants, agents can verify stock, and answer engines can cite the correct regional price without conflating entities.

## What enterprise schema systems include

- Entity registry and stable @id patterns across templates and locales
- Product, Offer, Organization, Place, Service, and Person graphs where applicable
- Validation, governance, and change control for high-risk properties
- Alignment between HTML source pages and JSON-LD records
- Agent-readable commerce and policy fields — not decorative markup
## Failure modes

- Decorative JSON-LD that diverges from visible page content
- Unstable @id patterns that break entity resolution across locales
- Offer or Product records missing currency, region, or availability fields
- Schema deployed without governance — drift accumulates until retrieval systems ignore records
## Implementation use cases

- Multi-market product catalogs with currency-aware Offer entities
- Location and service graphs for enterprise brands with regional source pages
- Schema governance pipelines for high-risk indexed properties

## Relationship to AI retrieval and agents

Schema supports retrieval (what gets grounded), citation (what gets named), and agent action (what can be verified and completed). It pairs with AI Agent Optimization for action routes and with LLM Compute Leak framing for intelligence prioritization.
